What is Freehand Tattooing?
With freehand drawing, I draw out the design directly on to your skin with a pen/marker. While doing this, I'm also considering how your body's contours will affect the final piece. It works well for floral pieces, branches, arm bands etc as it allows me to follow the lines of your body naturally.
For this particular piece, I created an outline for a delicate vine pattern that runs along almost all of the arm (almost like a bracelet). I traced it onto the skin so that the lines flowed with the contour of the arm rather than looking rigid or linear. With pieces such as this one, it is important to take into account the bend of the wrist/forearm area. It has to be visually appealing both on paper and while wearing it.

Tattoo features thin lines with soft, delicate shading. Shading gives dimension to the branch - it's not just one solid color. Soft shadows add some fullness to the leaves which keeps everything interesting but still has that fine line style.

I frequently use freehand elements for arm tattoos, delicate armbands, botanical designs, and small flower tattoos. Even if I have a basic design ready beforehand, I'll often adjust some lines directly on the skin before starting. This ensures the tattoo fits the arm's shape perfectly.

If you’re looking for a Tbilisi tattoo artist that does fine line, minimalist, floral / botanical tattoos then this style of freehand is perfect for you. Especially if you’d rather have a custom piece instead of an existing one - made specifically to fit your body and style.
In my studio in Tbilisi you can get - free hand tattoo, a small branch on your arm, an armband, flower tattoo, fine line, or whatever is in your heart. We can discuss the placement of the design before doing the tattoo (how it will fit to your body), choose size, modify shape to fit the arm perfectly.
